Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are the benefits of becoming a H4H Initiative member?

How do I register as a H4H Initiative Member?

For free membership, follow this link.

The registration page is not accepting the details that I want to use.

If the registration page is not accepting the details that you are entering during registration process, then it is likely that some of the details you’ve provided on the registration page have been entered incorrectly.

Try again and check the following:

Email address: Please provide a valid email address. It should look something like joebloggs@post.com, and can contain up to 30 characters. You can only register one account to each email address.

Username: This is what you will enter to sign in. You should choose carefully, as this may be viewable on the H4H Initiative website, and you cannot change it.

Display Name: This is what will display next to any contributions you make to the H4H Initiative website and the Hydration Hub.

Password: Your password must contain 7 or more characters. It will be more secure if it contains letters and numbers.

Do not use profanities or swear words that are likely to offend other users in your name or username. The registration system will automatically detect them and ask you to create another.

Why do I have to give my email address?

Giving us your email address lets you do the following things:

  • Reset your password if you’ve forgotten it
  • Recover your account if it’s been locked
  • Know why your posts or contributions have been removed by our moderators

We will not email you unnecessarily or give your email address to other parties. It is important that you give us a correct working email address as we will check it during registration by emailing you and asking you to reply.

What is a display name?

We will display your name next to anything you post on the Hydration Hub or when you make other contributions. Decide how you’d like to be known to others, and this will also be the name we’ll use when you’re using the H4H Initiative website. This can be your real name, or a nickname. If you don’t enter a display name, your username will be shown instead.

Unlike your username, you can change what you want to be called at any time. But please note that your new display name will be shown next to all your previous contributions and comments.

I have forgotten my username or password.

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking the “Forgot your password?” button in the sign-in area.

If you have already tried to reset your password without success, please read ‘I’m trying to reset my password, but my username and email are not recognised’.

My email address/username/password doesn’t work when I try to sign in.

First, please make sure you’ve typed your details correctly. If you think you may have forgotten your username or password, click on the “Forgot your password?” button in the sign-in area to send yourself an email that will remind you of your username and allow you to reset your password.

I can’t sign in.

If your username or password is not recognised, please write to secretariat@h4hinitiative.com.

If that is not the problem, make sure your browser is set to allow cookies. A cookie is a small file that h4hinitiative.com needs to store on your computer for the registration page to work.

You can change your browser’s settings to allow cookies. This option is usually available from the menu bar under ‘Options’ or ‘Preferences’ and then under Privacy settings. Every browser is slightly different so try using your browser help section to read how to set your browser to allow cookies.

Why is my real name displaying next to my contributions, instead of my username?

Your “username” is what you use to sign in to the Hydration Hub and is what you are known as on h4hinitiative.com. This will be displayed next to your contributions. You can use either your real name or a nickname.

How do I view my account details?

To view your details you’ll need to sign in. You can also access the page by clicking the ‘Edit Profile’ button at the top right hand side of the page.

Can I change my username?

You will not be able to change your username after you have registered. You can, however, change your display name.

How do I change my display name?

Once confirmed, your username cannot be changed.

Your new display name will now appear beside all your new posts and contributions. It may, however, take a while before your existing posts and contributions are updated with your new display name.

  1. Sign in to h4hinitiative.com.
  2. Once you’re signed in, click on the “Edit profile / Change password” button to reset your password. Then follow the instructions.

  1. Sign in to h4hinitiative.com.

Once you’re signed in, click on the ‘Edit Profile’ button to view and change your details. Then follow the instructions.

What does the option ‘Remember me on this computer’ mean?

If you tick the ‘Remember me on this computer’ box when signing in or registering, the computer you are using at the time will remember you and automatically sign you in if you visit the Hydration Hub again. This means you don’t have to type your username and password each time you visit.

Never tick ‘Remember me on this computer’ if you are using a public computer, for example in an internet cafe or at a library where lots of people share it. To keep your account safe, only tick this box if you are the only person using this computer.

How do I delete my membership account? To delete your membership account write to secretariat@h4hinitiative.com.

All your personal information will be deleted from our database upon request but your posts or other contributions will NOT be removed from h4hinitiative.com. If you have deleted your account by accident, you’ll need to register again.

Why is my message no longer visible?

Your message may have been removed because the Moderator had judged it has broken one or more of the Hydration for Health Hub House Rules and Regulations.

Can I delete a comment?

The simple answer is: you can’t.

When you click ‘post comment’ you commit that message to be published on the Hydration Hub. After that, the comment will only be removed if it breaks the House Rules. Because comments cannot be changed or removed afterwards we recommend that you always double check the text before you post your comment.

Look out for:

  • Missing words
  • Spelling mistakes
  • Meaning (does it actually say what you meant to say)
  • Tone (jokes and sarcasm can be misunderstood)

What does h4hinitiative.com do with my personal information and my comments or other contributions?

We understand that your personal details and confidentiality are very important. All the personal information that you provide will be stored securely and never shared with third parties. However,  please be careful when posting comments to the Healthy Hydration Hub as they are visible to all users. Once you post something, you can’t remove it.
